Five years ago, Trav and I came to Mexico for our honeymoon. While we definitely enjoyed staying at an all inclusive resort, this time around we wanted to experience a different side of Mexico.
We are renting an apartment in Playa del Carmen and planning to take a few trips around the Yucatan Peninsula.
One of those trips was a day spent exploring the beautiful town of Tulum, including the beachside Mayan ruins. (And silly us, we forgot both our DSLR and our GoPr0, so all of these photos were taken with an iPhone 6).
The ruins at Tulum are so unique nestled up against the sea and one of my new favorite spots to explore. Don’t forget to wear your bathing suit as you can just climb down the cliff and swim while gazing up at the ruins.

What is your favorite beachside spot to explore?
